Dental Plans
If you are looking for an excellent dental plan (and/or vision plan), we recommend Ameritas. They have excellent coverage and reasonable prices.
- Tip: Dental plans work best when your dentist is in the network of the insurance company. Thus it is important to see if your dentist is on the Ameritas network.
Log on to the Ameritas Dental website here
Once on the Ameritas website, look to the lower right-hand corner of the page. Click on “Find a Dentist” to see if your dentist is in the network. If you are interested in selecting a new dentist, or you don’t have a regular dentist, use this feature to locate a new dentist.
- If your dentist is listed in the network . . .
- look for plan names WITH the word “network.” This means these dentists have agreed to lower negotiated fees, meaning the premium is less. Again, it must say, “network” in the plan name.
- If your dentist is NOT listed in the network . . .
- look for dental plans WITHOUT the word “network.” These plans are more expensive since they cover expenses for dentists not in the network.
- Next, apply quickly and easily. You can use your credit card to pay for dental and receive travel mileage in return!
